Getting Started with AGCV
CERTIFIED
COURT VIDEO
SPECIALIST
(CCVS)
The AGCV recommends
that the professional
videographer
should actually
start with the CCVS certification.
The CCVS certification is available by home study or through attendance at a live two day certification seminar, whether it is held in Casper, Wyoming or at one of our many Regional Seminars conducted throughout the nation each year. You should check the calendar of "Upcoming Seminars" for locations. The CCVS certification includes the material in the CDVS Certification in
addition to complete information on producing the video documentaries. You must read the following paragraphs for their descriptions.
This is the
complete course
that includes
the deposition (CDVS). At present, home study requires completion of a final 200 question exam with a grade of 80% or better, and you must also produce a proof of performance video of a deposition. All exams are "open book" exams. This prepares the professional videographer for meeting the needs of any attorney in any law office, whether that attorney is a trial attorney, estate planning attorney, corporate attorney, etc. Cost of this certification should not be a factor as the money will be back in your pocket with your very first contract. Producing the video examples is waived for those attending a live seminar.
CERTIFIED
DEPOSITION
VIDEO SPECIALIST
(CDVS)
The CDVS is available to any professional videographer that does not expect to expand their services beyond the production of depositions. This can save the videographer money up front to get started as a legal videographer, however, it will cost more to add the documentary certification later should they decide to expand their services. This is achieved by home study or a 1 day live Casper or Regional seminar. The home study requires the passing of a final 100 question exam with a grade of 80% or better. It also requires the production of a deposition whether actual or mock.
There
is another option
to the above
regularly scheduled
seminars. Any
of the certifications
may be obtained
by receiving a
one-on-one training
in Casper, WY. Please
contact the AGCV at info@agcv.com for
details.
Remember: Certifications From The AGCV Will Be Terminated When You Cease Being A Member In Good Standing
